Our 2009 trip was hampered by high winds and rough seas. We had to cancel our offshore trip with CopOut and try our hand at inshore fishing in the Indian River lagoon With Captains Keith Kalbfleisch and Kevin Mulligan. Weather made things difficult, but we managed one oversized redfish (released) and a few speckled trout, which made for a great dinner. 

We will be doing something very similar this year out of Pine Island, FL on March 20, 2010. This is right in my backyard, just west of Cape Coral. We will be fishing inshore, and possibly kayak fishing too. I am still working out the details, and I will be asking for feedback through the Yahoo Group SAHDs_Fish. Most guys arrive Thursday or early Friday and leave on Sunday. Fly into RSW (Fort Myers).

The hotel is TBD. There are lots of places to stay right on the water, all with great fishing opportunities from land or kayak nearby. The atmosphere is quiet and laid back.

Cost is still not determined. We may do guided inshore trips, or we may just use a kayak guide and rent kayaks, which would cost less but be a lot more work for us. :-) (Accommodations and mate tips will be extra.) Since cost varies depending on the number of guys we have, I usually collect a flat amount ahead of time and then refund or collect as needed upon arrival.

If you are definitely coming down, even if you can't send the deposit until the last minute, PLEASE TELL ME! We are usually right on the cusp of needing multiple boats, and if we wait too long to reserve them, we can miss out.

Please send $100 deposits by January 15 to secure a spot, so I can cancel the second boat or add a third if needed. Balance will be due by 2/28/06. Non-fishing SAHDs welcome, but any reserved accommodations will be given to fishers first.
