The 2008 Trip was on March 15. We headed out to Cocoa Beach, Florida to try and catch up some of those Atlantic grouper and see what other things the 'other side' has to offer. It was rough, and bottom fishing was a little slow, but Captain Jeff kept working and got us into a hungry school of 20# class king mackerel. We even made the cover of the Central Florida Offshore Anglers newsletter, and the fish dinner turned out great.

We will be doing something very similar this year out of Port Canaveral on March 21, 2009. Two boats will be held again, but that is flexible. I will probably cap the trip at 15 guys (Mr. Optimism!) which would be 3 boats. That is also flexible, depending on the response we get.

The hotel this year is TBD. I am hoping to find somewhere less touristy than the Best Western was last year, with more access to shore fishing.

We are set up with CopOut fishing charters (http://www.copoutfishing.com) again. Read through their site for info, but please contact me and not Captain Jeff with questions.

I need to collect $250 each. Actual cost will be between $150 and $225 , depending on how many guys come to fish. (Accommodations and mate tips will be extra.) I will refund or collect as needed upon arrival.

If you are definitely coming down, even if you can't send the deposit until the last minute, PLEASE TELL ME! We are usually right on the cusp of needing two boats, and if we wait too long to add the second, we can miss out.

Please send $100 deposits by January 15 to secure a spot, so I can cancel the second boat or add a third if needed. Balance will be due by 2/28/06. Non-fishing SAHDs welcome, but any reserved accommodations will be given to fishers first.
